Meredith & Jeff
When this super sweet couple emailed me, I was immediately giddy about the possibility of shooting their elopement. They lived in Montana (one of my favorite states), they were creatives themselves, and they wanted to have an all natural elopement in Big Sur with just a handful of friends and family. They wrote to me that they wanted to “explore, climb rocks, hike through the forest, whatever it takes to get some awesome shots!”. So yeah, immediately I was pumped!
We started off in the forest, Meredith did her makeup and got dressed outside among the redwoods. Jeff got ready in a little VW right next door. Then we hiked down a path to a gorgeous tree where they would say their vows to each other and celebrate afterwards with whiskey and hugs. After that it was exploration time. We drove down to a hiking path I had found earlier that morning, away from the Big Sur crowds. We were the only people there, as we hiked and stopped for photos, ending up on the cliffs over the ocean. We stopped on a hill to do their first dance, they had brought a little speaker and their video tripod for this. Absolutely one of my favorite first dances I’ve ever witnessed. After that, we spent the rest of the evening walking barefoot along the cliffs, climbing rocks, and taking in the beautiful sunset.
